Another Nova 7 sell out

Nova 7 2008 roared back into the Nova Scotia market place earlier this year, and while we produced more than four times the volume of our inaugural release, at the winery we are now sold out of the 2008 vintage. You can still find some at select NSLC and private wine stores. Last month's NOVA 7 Vertical Trio was a real hit! Your comments show just how interesting and fun it is to compare different vintages.

Speaking of vintages, harvest has begun!

Although the 2009 season got off to a slow start with cooler temperatures and rainy weather this spring, September turned out to be gorgeous. Harvest began last Thursday in earnest with Muscat - Nova 7's signature grape. 2009 promises to be an even more delicious vintage of Nova 7.

Nexus Rosé is the perfect accompaniment to a Thanksgiving dinner of turkey with all its trimmings.

For a meal that serves up such an exuberant range of dishes and flavours as Thanksgiving Dinner, a chilled, beautifully dry rosé like NEXUS Rosé is the perfect accompaniment. When the range of flavours swings from the sweetness of a maple glazed sweet potato dish to the tartness of cranberry sauce and lemony greens, a wine with acidity and low tannins such as NEXUS Rosé, is called for in order to stand up to this range of foods.

Nexus Rosé is available at the NSLC's Port of Wines, Tantallon, Bayers Lake Park and New Minas stores as well as at Bishop's Cellar, Premier Wines and Spirits and Vin Art.

The Methodé Classique sparkling wines are coming!

As if harvest, wine festivals and events weren’t enough to keep us busy, we’ve been preparing for the release of, what may yet be our most spectacular wines thus far – a 2004 Brut Reserve and a 2004 Blanc de Noirs - expected sometime in early 2010.

Late this summer, resident winemaker, Jean-Benoit Deslauriers, disgorged these two wines – a process whereby the yeast sediment is removed and a finishing dosage is added, after which, over time, the wines gain in complexity. While many Champagnes are released shortly after disgorgement, higher quality Champagnes require more time post-disgorgement to allow the wine to become more fully integrated and more complex. Benjamin Bridge is following the path of the finest quality cuvées for these vintage sparkling wines.
